Here's what I say is good for what you want to do:

With your budget, this is some, what I call, mad "future proofing"
Because for what you want to do, you can accomplish that with $500 less, however with this $500 extra added, you just extended that $1000 PC's life by probably 3-4 more years I would say.
I went with the i7 6700k, which is overclockable, so even once it becomes obsolete (a long ass time until then), you can squeeze even more performance out of it.
16GB of RAM for the same reason. 1TB HDD paired with a 480GB SSD for ultra fast boot times, you can put all the games you want on this bad boy.
GTX 1080.
This card is fantastic.
This is what is going to drive your system for ever and ever.
