Was using LabyMod during this - perfectly fine with 1.7 but could possibly be done with 1.8 as well.
I think what i did is I tried joining another faction server but cancelled right away as i wanted to log on to Badlion, and once I had done that the chat from the other server was showing up here.

Relatively common bug, happens when you quickly connect to a server, it authenticates you but then you click cancel and join another server it will auth on both and your client will receive information from both.

Just a client side bug, no problems with either server :P
