When you are done with an MCSG 1v1 or 2v2 you will keep all the items, including the fishing rod. Then, you can add the fishing rod to any kit that you have, giving you the advatage over any opponent in duels.

Hi. I use a fishing rod in all of the potion ladders, you do not get an advantage over anyone because people can choose whether or not they want it. Anyone can join the MCSG ladder and get one.

Although, I do think rods should be added to kit chests.
