It's meant to be a serious AMA, and not everyone gets ginie's memes.

Do the CM's plan to divide and conquer on several different projects, or work together on one project at a time.

Is each CM tasked with different things? From what I've seen it, seems like @Unwise has been the information collector (Doing polls on twitter and now an AMA on here), are there any official/unofficial roles within CM you can tell us about?

So far, all our roles are equal and we'll all be working on the same thing. I've simply been testing the waters a bit to see how people feel about things.

It's possible unofficial roles will arise eventually, but right now I wouldn't say there are any.

Sorry, we aren't doing opinion questions and such right now, just broader questions about the CM role.

I think a lot of my concern is that you are all staff, you all have been exposed to the very hiveminded mentality that the staff has, but you hope to be the "voices of the community." The problem is, though, that to be the advocates of the community, you will (at least in some cases) need to fight tooth and nail with the administrators, and the community already did that. The community has in the past disagreed and will always disagree with the admins much more vehemently than the staff, for plenty of reasons. So what is different - if 7/13 community managers right now took a vote, based on their community interactions, to revert the rating system to elo, would the admins be held to that? How about 12/13? 13/13? Of course not. It's not like the admins before the creation of this position _wanted_ to disagree with the community, it's just that sometimes the community wants dumb things. How can you hope to change that?

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that we tell the admins what to do, because we don't. Imagine a company like Target or Walmart. Those companies typically have a team running diagnostics on complaints & ideas of certain products or deals. They can make suggestions to the CEO's and Management, propose propositions or even solutions - but in the end it's th CEO's and Management's decision.

As a team if we get a lot of ideas / complaints we'll weed through the ones that won't be handled and only forward the serious ones to Archy. If we get him on our side he'll discuss it with the admins and so on and so on.

For example: You mentioned players wanting ELO to be brought back. If we had a lot of players complaining about the current system we could then ask them if it's the current system or just the change overall. If a lot of players say it's just the current system we could then discuss with Archy about editing the current system to make the community happier. The solution doesn't swing hard one way, but is a good compromise and would hopefully make the community feel heard.

We're all working on the same things (like Unwise said), and I say this works out pretty well. Can't say there are any real roles yet though that is subject to change.

With enough feedback will changes be made to actually do what the community wants no matter what?

If the community shows to have enough support/feedback towards something (as a whole) then probably.

As Utsuho said, widespread support means something will very likely happen. Obviously, there are some things that won't happen no matter how much the community wants it, like a location in Antarctica, but within reason I believe so.

No. There is no assurance as there can always be something impossible to be or that Badlion does not have the resources to do, and in the end it is the executive decision of the owners to choose. Our job is to relay what feedback and ideas are being given and recommend them to the owners.
That being said, if there's an idea with good backing and lots of positive ideas, there is a very high probability of something happening with that idea.

Are you going to add uhc's that are aimed for nz people?
Because on weekdays nz people cant play the 9:30PM, 12:00AM so we get only one game.
Maybe host a 4:30 game on weekdays?
(Times are in NZ TimeZone)

I'm currently working on fixing the current AU schedule for times that are better suited for everyone, both AU/NZ.

It's pretty hard to do considering I have to account for 6 different Timezones, ranging from UTC +8 to UTC +12, and given how it is, it is likely not everyone will be able to play every single game, given personal commitments and the game times themselves. Although, hoping to remove the current late game as it is quite late for most people, inconvenient hosting time for the hosts and has shown time and time again to get little support when hosted (extremely low fills). Hopefully aiming towards either the old schedule or something quite similar.

I've tried to get as much feedback as possible from the AU/NZ community and as most people are unhappy with the current schedule and have been for a while, it is a priority that we change it. As I am a UHC Manager also, i've been hoping to change the AU schedule for some time as is anyway, so I hope to have this done before the upcoming summer holidays.

Also, about the 4:30 (NZ time games, 2:30AEDT for any AU people), during holidays, I honestly wouldn't mind them being hosted as we used to a while back as far as I remember, they get good support and the community seems to really enjoy those games during the holidays, although it's also a question of whether I have hosts that can do the time.

Anyway, my bad for rambling on, but I am looking towards changing the schedule so it is more even for a large majority of the community, compared to the current one which is better suited for AEDT players in particular.
