'gifted' at minecraft?
Can somone really be gifted at Minecraft? Or is it just a matter of knowing what to improve on and practicing it? (Assuming you have a good setup/internet)

I think there is, take danteh as an example. Even if some random player practiced pvp for the same amount of hours as danteh did, they more likely than not wouldnt be as good as he ever was.

What do you guys think?

There probably is some sort of natural skill level for how well people can play this game. I've been playing Badlion for about 2 and a half years now, and i'm still not amazingly good at the game after having so much time to practice, so there must be some sort of 'built in' skill

Yes, there is a limit to people's abilities. You can practice as much as you can and you will still never be as good as some people. It's just how it is. Don't let it get you down if you aren't enjoying it for that reason, play factions or something with friends and enjoy MC while you can. Some people will never have a good click speed or don't have as good hand to eye coordination. What makes it worse is that some of the more gifted players like iHackLiTE will shittalk you with their massive ego and make you feel like trash as you try to improve yourself.
Unfair, isn't it? :)

^ Guy that knows fuck all. Been here since Season 1 and played not that many matches yet consistent 1800 elo player each season (Yeah, you've played Kohi a lot more, but I don't really see you ever being "bad". As you started out maybe a month in pvp you got good quickly and no doubt quicker than some other people.) Every game has a skill level, Minecraft is no different, some people have exceedingly good hand to eye coordination and others do not.

it most certainly does, there are people such as myself that have been playing this server actively for years on end and are still pretty shit, even with good setups

There's a difference between playing the game a crap ton, and trying to understand the game's mechanics while you play it a crap ton.

People trying to figure out the games mechanics are how W-Tapping and Blockhitting were discovered. There's plenty more, but players nowadays aren't trying to figure out the game for themselves, that's why no one is getting "extraordinarily good" at the game.

I believe some people are naturally gifted but IMO that doesn't change the fact that if you practice hard enough you can be better than them.

Edit:

Also, Practice Playing a lot

Obviously there's natural talent involved. Look at Danteh, arguably the best at BuildUHC, then he quits for Overwatch and is in the top players for NA. Obviously some people are just talented, Danteh didn't grind all day long to get good.

Yeah you're practising wrong then lol

There's no natural skill at all, it's literally how you practice not just how much you do it

some people cap out at a certain level and can't get any better.

People may cap because of their set up but there will always be room for improvement.

imo some people can only be so good at a video game, people can be stuck at DMG in csgo and at that point they've reached their cap. most pros think the same thing
