Who would spend money on OGs?It's just a name in a game. You don't get anything from it. Sure you can get followers on twitter for but that's about it.
So why do people spend hundreds if not more than 1k on a minecraft account?
People like Misfit or Glove sell them for hundreds.

Collectable. OGs and short names (especially 3-4 chars on twitter and such where you can't make any names less than 5 anymore) are basically the new pokemon cards, only more expensive. On top of that, you're the only person who has that name, making it look even cooler if you snag a cool name like @Name (glove). If you ever need somewhat quick money, you can resell it for a % more than you paid for it to make profit.
