^Althought this might just waste your time because the "bowspammer" could easily sit there with his bow waiting for you to come out for 15 minutes. I once did this when someone was raging at me (he was also cheating btw xD)

I haven't played since season 12, are there a lot of bow spammers now?

As a "Bowspammer" myself, some tips if you want to "meleespam".

1) Bow back. I don't just mean a full on bowfight - more power to you if you do that and win, but assuming you want to melee, work your way in as you shoot. When you're close enough, switch to your sword and deal some damage. This is probably the most generally effective strategy.

2) Wall. You have to play strategically and preferably use your bow some, but it baits a lot of people into melee range quickly.

3) Strafe unpredictably. Place blocks while running if you want (Somewhat useless in the short term against a good player, but it can help later and does give a little bit of cover if you're good.)

4) Tell them to kill themselves in real life because they used a bow in a game, preferably in an eloquently written soliloquy on how nobody loves them. I can confirm, it's by far the most popular strategy.

Do you cover above and on the sides
And don't stay close to the corner of the blocks, they can shoot there
