Arena Mentor Revamp: (1/3) Server Tours Planning
Hello!

FOR GUIDES: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfxkcrywUZKX4qJymaAX--QJN0-7PQZ1fwHPwe1qfH6FMP3rg/viewform

Recently, the mentor team has created a few concepts for discussion (..more threads to follow very soon..) to really push the mentor system to its very best. This is the most recent discussion point.

The mission:
Currently the trial system is in pretty good order, but it has been made clear that trials are being offered nearly no support by protocol. The idea is to provide standardised tours to counter this issue in an interactive way.

The "how":
Mentors and Mod+ ranks will be assisting with the process. Tours will not be mandatory in any way, but will open up a clear session where questions can be rattled off, amongst clarifications. The trial will not be required to speak at the event, nor turn up to it - if this is the case, a prolong text-based discussion of a similar nature can be hosted at will. To assist in mitigation of this being an issue, the trial will be asked to state a few times they can do the tour and the mentor team will work around this.

Here are the current discussion points we have.

AGENDA: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AZMlmKKYKZKIabnw-rzznTkxVbV8Hcg32YYMsjrOcmY/edit

Guides must follow the order of the agenda exactly, adding extra detail where possible.

If anybody is interested, I wish to see more suggestions for what we should be discussing in these small tours. Any feedback will be closely considered, especially if backed up with a sensible argument.

At the end of the trial stage whenever they pass, they should be given a full review of how they did. E.g. what they did good on, and how they can improve. E.g.

If a trial had let's say, 2/3 denied reports, then mentors should go through the reports, indicating areas of improvement and explaining to them what they did wrong. Or let's say, that they muted someone for the wrong reason, basically, go through it with them and explain what they did wrong and what mute reason it would be under, etc.

This should allow trials to improve their weaknesses or any particular areas where they are not so confident on and additionally, it allows us to train trials into experienced mods, which of course can benefit us short and long term.
