I'd just like to put it out there, that I'm not suggesting at all I'm some god at pvp and stuff yeah but I was top 10 build earlier this season(check out jezii on yt if you want proof XDXD #freepromotion) Also got 5 UHC wins this season and came 2nd in the build uhc 2v2 tourney with @KarliXon . Anyway I saw someone ask how to get better etc so let me just give you idk some stuff I learnt without being super cringey :DThis is for new people okay. If I see some emerald player chatting shit I swear to god, I'll do nothing :<
Firstly, he mentioned about wtap and all that stuff. Don't even worry about all that stuff yet mate, that's stuff you can think about when you're really comfortable with the kit and a good skill level(I'd say about emerald 2-3 is when you should look into it).
Secondly, CPS(Clicks per second). Okay this is a broad topic but il try my best. For BuildUHC, It is better to get 6-8 (I consider low cps) and be very comfortable with hotkeying your items etc than like 10-15 ( I consider high cps) and have awful aim+not being able to hotkey efficiently. Ofc if you're comfortable and have good aim while clicking fast go for it, but it's not a necessity to be good at the kit. I personally alternate between 7-12 cps depending on the situation. The best way to practice clicking at what's comfortable and improving your aim is definitely playing pot in my opinion. Kits like gapple though I prefer nodebuff :P. I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to promote other servers or anything, but I'd suggest playing pot on other servers for now since the kb is a bit sketch( all will be fixed for the new season). Most of the servers, you have to pay but Valux is free. Play unranked on there(though you'll fight a hacker once in a while). Please snip this part out if it's against the rules mods :P I just wanna help ^-^.
Thirdly, hotkeying/being comfortable. Alright, this is one of the major factors of being good at builduhc. Being comfortable with your hotkeys. the biggest tip I can give you is: PLEASE DON'T CHANGE YOUR SETTINGS. I've been playing for a while and I've always changed them. It's so much better to just get familiar with one and keep it. Same time, don't pick stupid hotkeys like don't have 789 as it's just too far away and makes it very awkward in a sticky situation. idk watch like good players, see what they got or just make up your own set of hotkeys and stick to it.
Fourthly, random shit.
Don't pregap. Waste. You pregap. I shoot you twice. We're both 10 hearts except you got 1 gap less. Yeah I got 2 arrows less but in the long run, unless it's very close and it comes down to 2 arrows, most of the time, the fight ends way before then so you'll be at a disadvantage.
Don't water spam/bowspam. Play to improve, not to piss off the opponent to get on an alt and use huzuni or some shit on you. Use it when you have to etc if you're low , place some blocks put water so he cant rush you and gap.
crits are quite important so make sure you land your rods and positioning, if the guy's against the wall or in the corner, you're most likely in the advantage, I mean there is the fact he wont take kb since he's against the wall but you can lava , you can move around so he misses his rod etc Also, if you see the chance of low ground, take it. More likely to win the fight.
Also if you can record yourself fighting , that helps since you can see what you did wrong etc. Don't be annoyed you're playing against people with higher ratings, tbh you should be grateful. It'll be harder, challenging and the only way you'll get better is by playing better people. Even if you lose, see what you did wrong ,or what he did right.
hope it helped at least 1 person :P

A stupid question, does aiming matter? I've put so much time into my aiming and a lot of times I can't see my crosshair ever leaving the opponent, yet the opponent still lands combos on me. Should I focus more on movement and rodding?Posted on 08 November 2017 - 07:23 AM

it's all about balancing and prioritising at the right moment. movement/rod before they are in reach, always think about predicting their movement, once you've both rodded/lava or whatever, then focus on your aim , perhaps incoperate an a or d strafe to throw off their aim. like in this clip https://clips.twitch.tv/ImportantRudeMartenBatChest , you are watching a 2300 player vs a 2400 player :P

These are some basic tips but what is this? "Don't water spam/bowspam. Play to improve, not to piss off the opponent to get on an alt and use huzuni or some shit on you." If someone literally starts using huzuni cuz he got bowed on a ranked, he's completely retarded. If someone want's to improve or get a higher elo use what you're good at using lol I dont know why people get so mad when someone use a bow on a ranked/unranked match bowing is one of the only skills that you can have with good or bad ping.

also people need to learn how to bow and learn to bow fight, so many people in unranked just kill themselves when people bow so clearly bowing isn't that big of a strong suit, and because of this pre gapping is harder to counterPosted on 08 November 2017 - 09:29 PM
and if you play pot should you lower your fov to match your fov normally or just keep it the same, i keep it the same since normally i'm not going to be able to change fov convienitelyPosted on 09 November 2017 - 08:33 AM

its annoying when people pull out the bow because they are insecure about their actual skill and then use half their arrows because you were winning by one heart

No lol, because after a certain level, those "annoying tactics" won't work. Higher elo players do not care how much time they have to spend, you wont be able to annoy them. Sure 1500-1800/1900 you can piss them off enough to win your games but against a 2.1k good luck. They will probably piss you off lol. Hence why I suggest you focus on improving the core skills rather than these "annoying tactics"
