Just because you're "Joking" doesn't make it okay.

Lately, I have been having lots of people that have been muted telling me and other mods that they were "just joking with their friend", especially with derogatory terms. That still doesn't mean you can do it. The chat rules are still chat rules and some people could take offense to what you are saying. It also sets a bad example because we mute people for the same reason when it isn't their friends. It wouldn't be fair to them if we didn't mute you for doing the exact same thing but "with your friend".Also, especially in the in-game chat, people can't tell when you're joking or not because its just words.

I agree with this completelyPeople can easily take a joke in the wrong way
Also sets a bad example for others who might not know any better

In global chat, I understand this concern, but via PM, I don't. If he's fucking around with his friend in PM, and neither of them take offense, what's the problem?Posted on 16 January 2015 - 04:22 PM
