So whenever I launch the bad lion client, not the blue button that says "launch" but double-clicking the application itself, I get the "allow this app to make changes to your device?" user account control window. Obviously, I click yes and I can launch ad use mine craft just fine, but when I quit the game and close the application, I'll get the same pop-up the next time. Is this typical? Is there any workaround besides turning off all user account control pop-ups? Thanks. (This is my first post on the forums so sorry if it's wrong or already been answered. Please let me know if so :D )

It is completely normal. Badlion Client requires those admin priviledges for the inlcuded anticheat.

There are some online programs allowing to launch programs without everytime clicking yes.
