Inventory key issues

My inventory key is B. My problem is that when I press B my inventory opens, but when press B again my inventory does not close. This didn't happen before the most recent update. I have made sure to change the default key bind on the emote wheel. with most other keys, I do not run into the same problem. This is in 1.8.9. Same, does anyone know the fix? I have to use forge often now because of this glitch, it as OP said, i click my inventory OR open a chest, and i cannot close out of it.Edit: I have tried esc too, the menu does not close either

I'm also experiencing something similar, I'm not able to hotkey some slots even outside of the inventory, e.g. I have [X] bound to my 8th slot, but since the recent update I'm not able to access my 8th slot using this hotkey any more.
