I'm interested in buying a badlion shield, but I don't know how they work - do they show up in front of you in f5 when you block with your sword in 1.8.9? And can you see them in first person??

The sheild appears on the side of your second hand

Hello!

You can't see a shield when you block with your sword.
You can't see it in the first-person view but you can see a shield in the third person view (F5 mode).

A shield can be located on the back of your Minecraft character and in the hand - the location can be changed through the Cosmetics menu and graphics settings.
