It also takes a very long time to start up, and once it does I get this error. Nothing is wrong with any of the things it suggests, could anyone help?

I can't see those screenshots.
Make sure your firewall and antivirus are not blocking BLC connections. If you are still getting the same error, submit a bug report. You can do that by scrolling down and clicking on the "Submit Bug Report" button in the launcher. It will send us your logs. Logs are required for most bug reports as they contain errors and information to help identify what the problem is.
