From what I have heard, your FPS drops when you are close to more HD blocks (such as fences and vines..etc, because they need more ''power'' to load, thus causing FPS lag). I saw the lobby having fences and vines everywhere, which gives me 15-20 FPS. But when I play on maps like Grass, my FPS shoots up to 50.

I just don't like a laggy lobby, because I am using a crappy MacBook Pro 15'', which makes my FPS bad enough.

And btw, +1 i get like 15 fps at spawn
