A BAC question

On servers that use BAC, is it necessary to have Badlion? I personally despise the Badlion client skin and the significant performance decrease, so I hope that this is not the case.Last edited on 07 April 2020 - 11:51 AM by UnknownFact

If the server that uses Badlion anti-cheat (BAC) allows other people to play who don't use Badlion Client, then it is not necessary to have Badlion Client. A great example is GommeHD - it uses BAC but you can also play on it with other clients.

So, if not using Badlion, it will still do the general server-side stuff?Because a cheater won't want to use Badlion if it does client-side monitoring. So, I would think that it defeats the purpose.

What do you mean by "it will still do the general server-side stuff?"?BAC is a client-side anticheat, not a server-side, and if the person is not using Badlion Client, they don't have BAC which means they won't be banned by it in case they are cheating. In that situation it would require to have a server-side anticheat that would deal with other people who are not using Badlion Client.

So… That makes it useless. If cheaters can easily just use the normal Minecraft launcher and BAC does not do anything server-based, it renders itself useless.Posted on 11 April 2020 - 01:12 AM
As I mentioned in my previous post, it's up to servers whether they want to let only BAC players to play or not.
