When I toggle optifine on in blc, I experience lots of lag and fps spikes in public lobbies such as in hypixel skyblock. But, when I disable optifine, it's extremely smooth, no fps or lag spikes, and my game doesn't freeze up randomly. Help?Posted on 10 May 2020 - 03:04 AM
Hello,Reset your Optifine config. You can do that in Minecraft settings (Options -> Video Settings -> Other -> Reset Video Settings). Then re-do it.

Are your render distance maxed out?Have you enabled settings such as anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, and smooth fps? If those settings are enabled, turn them off!
Also, check if the same issue happens on normal Minecraft with the same version of Optifine (HD U I7).

I have all of those settings turned off. I tried on minecraft launcher with the version you mentioned but I still receive the lag spikes. I don't quite understand why optifine, a mod meant to make your game smoother, is making me lag when near other players in mega hubs in hypixel. I would play without optifine but I use it for resource packs and it's useful features.Posted on 10 May 2020 - 04:25 AM
Since the lagging issue has been happening on normal Minecraft as well, there's not much I can suggest doing. Try to allocate more RAM to Minecraft or reinstall Minecraft. If you decide to reinstall Minecraft, save important files (screenshots, chat logs, resource packs, etc.) that you have in the Minecraft directory (.minecraft).Posted on 06 June 2020 - 07:40 PM
