1.8.9 Badlion "out of memory"
Posted on 18 July 2020 - 12:32 AM
What happened:I was casually playing some 1.8.9 Badlion Client Hypixel and my friend asked me to move to another server in 1.12. So, I changed versions and played. After, we decided to move back to Hypixel with some other friends. When I switched to 1.8.9, I got the following message:
"Minecraft has run out of memory.
This could be caused by a bug in the game or by the Java Virtual Machine not being allocated enough memory.
To prevent level corruption, the current game has quit. We've tried to free up enough memory to let you back to the main menu and back to playing, but this may not have worked. Please restart the game if you see this message again."
The funny thing is, when I launched Badlion 1.15.2, it worked just fine! I also tried Vanilla (without badlion) 1.8.9 and it worked. As badlion is a vital part of my playstyle, I can't play without it.
Here are the facts:
- Restarting my computer didn't work
- I have plenty of memory, so it's not a memory issue
- I tried lowering and making my memory higher, neither worked
- This has never happened before
- I did not change any settings/edit the game at all
- I didn't download any game extensions of any sort
Thank you for reading! :)

Hello,Have you tried deleting your 1.8.9 files and doing a fresh install of the files? It might be the case that your 1.8.9 directory has corrupted.

I tried that and it didn't work, but I found that switching mod profiles did! I don't know why, but my mod profile must have corruputed.
