I for one am using it partially because Windows 10 is slower and buggier than Windows 8.1 for my hardware, and partially because I can't stand the telemetry services and other BS that's baked into Windows 10.
Just to also share some statistics and further reasoning behind our decision:
Windows 7 is 1.7%
Windows 8 is <0.1%
Windows 8.1 is 0.9%
Windows 10 is 97.4%
As you can clearly see, Windows 10 is the majority of users already, and of the remaining users who are not on Windows 10, most of them are on Windows 7. It just makes sense for us to shift everyone off of Windows 7 and 8 when like I mentioned they are both buggier operating systems that are not receiving serious support from Microsoft anymore. Microsoft wants people on Windows 10, which also adds new features and better security which can allow us to do more cool things with the operating system in the future. This is also imperative for our anticheat software in order to ensure it remains secure.
You raise some excellent points, but this is something where we have to just aim for the 95%+ of people and just say the rest will need to adapt. Most of the people who have machines on Windows 7 or 8 would mean that they are at least 5 years above the average Minecraft Java Edition's age…so this would imply that most of the players who are on Windows 7 or 8 are probably older users if anything.

GDPR has done a great job of giving everyone more rights on their data and how it is collected. Although I will admit personally, it has been a huge pain in the ass for us to support (just because it made us to extra work when we are barely collecting anything in the first place).
P.S. As I linked above, it is still completely free to upgrade to Windows 10 :) Microsoft is just trying to move everyone onto the next generation of their software.

It will not be, I believe we will be adding back in the New Chat vs Old Chat option soon.
We are continuing to improve it though so that most people will be ok with it :)

Quick question about the full release: is it going to be free or is it going to be a paid client? I don't see many people buying it if it is any more than $7AUD ($5USD), as lunar client still offers better fps (and might be slightly outdone by the final version of BLC) and is free to use, however I would think that if it is free will the cosmetics go up in price for a while to pay for the updates? That would seem a bit more fairer, like maybe raising everything by maybe $2 or something.2nd Question: What is the estimated release date? (I mean like 2021 or something, not a specific date)
3rd question (edit): will there be mod support for MacOS, currently there are mods like mumble link that are only for windows, which I would love on Mac but there just isn't any versions of it for BLC, I would have to use forge for the mod (who even uses forge nowadays smh)

FPS Update 2
This week we have gone ahead and added more FPS improvements into the client. A lot of the changes are internal to the way we are rendering our own menus and systems to reduce down the amount of FPS it costs to open a menu (and just to clarify, it always will cost more FPS to render more things on the screen). We also made some improvements to the new cloak model we have designed to improve performance and reduce FPS drops
We are committed to continuing to improve the FPS in BLC 3.0, and will be back next week with more improvements!
BAC Launcher Update
We have gone ahead and added some of the missing functionality now on the BAC page for Windows users to take advantage of. You can view the recent punishments of people who have been caught cheating on BAC enabled servers or gamemodes. There is also a spot to report people who you believe are cheating on BAC enabled servers for us to investigate. This functionality will be 100% complete when we have released 3.0 to the public.
Replay Mod UI Rework
We are continuing to rework our old Replay Mod menus and update them to the new look and feel. We have gone ahead and added some other menus such as the player visibility menu and fixed some other small bugs related to the Replay Mod and the menus not showing up.

Good afternoon, today I bought the BLC 3.0 offer and installed the beta launcher, now I can't enter dablion client I get that update drivers for my pc are all updated, everything was fine until I installed the BLC 3.0 beta.
Please help.

I've been investigating the problem of shrinking the spacing of Unicode letters, and I found out that it occurred in the 2.3 update.

In the 2.6 update with the FPS Boost function, titles were not centered, but left aligned, making it uncomfortable to see as someone who values design.
(FPS 부스트 기능이 생긴 2.6에서는 타이틀이 가운데가 아닌 왼쪽으로 정렬되는 등, 디자인을 중요시 여기는 사람으로써 불편함을 느낍니다.)

I think the Unicode related code was wrong during the 2.3 update.
