Dynamically Download Assets
When Badlion first starts, it spends a long while downloading the assets (in my testing, almost half an hour). This has meant (due to impatience, yes, I know it's only half an hour, but I didn't know that) that I have put off testing the new features for a while.

I may have fairly slow internet (the fastest it ever gets is 1.5MB/s, which is honestly slightly embarrassing), but even on faster internet (e.g. 6MB/s, which seems to also be a pretty common speed for fibre broadband in my experience) it could take a while. The zip file seems to be larger than many ISOs files I have used in the past (around 2.1GB), and doesn't seem to have a very good compression ratio (basically the same).

The assets seem to mainly contain cosmetics (aside from some GL shaders and other resources), and there are so many that it would probably be more efficient to asynchronously download them when they are first needed - the Levelhead mod already does something similar to fetch players' levels.

To be fair, the main issue is my potato internet.

Edit: after the main set of assets downloaded, a new set of assets that were saved somewhere that I couldn't find, and the old assets seemed to disappear. In total, the first Badlion launch took about an hour.

Nice, basically you have bad internet, sorry, nothing they can really do about that. I mean they could add a setting to only download big updates, or only push the totally necessary ones.

Hey there, unfortunately, this is simply a case of slow internet.

However, the good news is that I believe our development team is looking at better streamlining the update process so that users with slow internet can have a more acceptable update time (and those with fast internet have an even better update time).
