Timing out
Posted on 30 April 2015 - 10:26 AM
Due to laziness, I am not going to go through this forum to see if there is a previous post about this.Anyway, I understand that this has happened to not only me and it would have occurred many times in the past, but I managed to grind my ranked archer ELO to 2126, putting me at rank #8. Normally my internet is fine, but it is unpredictable as to when it will just completely cut out.
I joined the archer queue today after playing several other matches with my regular ping (30ish to the AU server) and happened to start timing out the moment I got a match. This has happened to me in the past, and I normally either get ghost killed, left to time out, or left until my internet kicks back in. In this case, I was left alone, but instead of completely timing out I was kicked to the lobby due to "Disconnected due to lag". Proof: http://gyazo.com/7171cb376e3523d8513983768cf635a3
Now, the thing that makes me mad about this is he left me alone (proof: https://www.badlion.net/match/kitpvp/4817654) and yet after being kicked, the win was given to him. Because of this I lost about 31 ELO that was unfairly lost. Obviously this isn't the end of the world, it's just that spending forever getting my ELO to a high total and then losing a decent portion of it due to the server counting being kicked as a win is incredibly frustrating, and in my opinion should not be a feature. If there is any possibly way of preventing this, please look into doing so. Thanks for reading.
I'd also like to add here a thank you for being a good server. It is run really professionally and I (normally) enjoy my experiences on here, keep it up :) But please do something about this.

For future reference, you can search the forum by googling "site:badlion.net/forum [topic]" without brackets or quotesAs for the suggestion, I would personally love that, but it's impossible. Timing out is part of the game, and it happens to everybody. But if we make it so that you don't lose elo when you lag out, people would just pull out their routers or whatever when they're losing. It's impractical and easily abused.

Yeah fair enough, I understand your reasoning. I made this post more out of rage than anything.Posted on 30 April 2015 - 01:01 PM
