So I was in a 2v1 against people and my teammate was dead/spectating. He lag/left the server and I was assigned with the 2v2 tools e.g 2v2 and 3v3 Diamond sword, paper and name tag etc. I lost the match because I had no gear and both the other had full diamond.

This should be fixed by now depending on what server you're on. As of right now, should be fixed on NA 1/2.
