Excessive kiting means keeping your opponent on a distance. This is done by using enderpearls, constantly running away, draining speed II pots, using a punch bow, using a KB sword and more. This technique is severely frowned upon by some members in the community because it avoids direct pvp. Matches take very long, and this is also done to simply bait and annoy players. There is no rule at the moment specifically against excessive kiting. On the other hand, other players think that excessive kiting should stay allowed. It is a pvp technique, just as block-hitting and strafing is.
What do you think? Should excessive kiting be disallowed?

Important note: With this new rule, kiting with a purpose would still be allowed. If you want to run out a poison, or if you want to regenerate, that is fine. If you want to run out a fire resistance, that is not fine. Makes sense right? Furthermore, this rule would basically only apply to certain kits. Take vanilla for example, you have a lot of options to easily kite excessively. On the other hand, it would not apply to diamond OCN. You can not kite as much as you want there anyway because you lack the components (ender pearls, punch bow, big maps, unlimited arrows). Only a small temporary runaway is possible. This temporary runaway is valid and essential if you're low on hearts, and will never be outlawed.

No, if someone is good with a bow, they should not be punished for excessively PvPing with a punch bow. Running with purpose to just avoid all PvP, sure dissalow it, but if you are engaging in pvp in any way (like with a bow) it should be allowed.Posted on 24 June 2015 - 09:40 PM
There needs to be a rule against kiting. It is getting to the point where people are leaving because of runners that just throw debuffs. People here play really cheap sometimes, and kiters are one of the reasons I quit ranked.Posted on 24 June 2015 - 09:58 PM

I feel like this would cause the rules to seem more complicated for new players.Posted on 24 June 2015 - 10:40 PM
When would it become excessive kiting rather than just kiting? There's nothing physical you can draw there, so I believe this adds complication and scope for false punishments.Posted on 24 June 2015 - 10:43 PM
OOPSI voted for the wrong thing (facepalm)
Count +1 for yes, remove; count -1 for no, don't remove

That comment made my day @BackToDecember
They mean excessive kiting by running just to run down debuffs or make it a long round but if you bow or pvp with any other tactic ,them you are pvping which means you have are not excessive kiting
