You're an idiot

Lynkkis please refrain from spewing more garbage out of your mouth. I mean you're playing an online game with a player base that is mostly pre-pubescent and you're bitching about connection. Just leave.

Ping does matter, but only to a certain extent. Im perfectly content with my 60 ping here on badlion. Becuase the nocheat is good and you can still get good hits. But i am also a hive player, i get 180 ping and the ncp makes it hard to hit people, you are extremely limited on somehwere like there, and with the exsessive rod delay i cant play any near as well on hive as i would with good ping. Ping is a HUGE factor of how well you can do on places like hive, but badlion has amazing nocheat (so you can actually hit people even with bad ping) and its more even for everyone, which is why I now play badlion instead of hive :)

Have you ever noticed that people say that PvP is 90% about skill?
So have I. Those who say that, haven't played with bad ping.
Now that GCheat has cleaned out most of the cheaters, there remains bad players, good players and pingers.
And the only way to be good is by pinging nowadays.
From my experience, when I was playing with a guy who had 10ms to EU, I was clicking three times faster than him and he still would get those crazy hits on me, and from
further away. And there's a lot more, which I'm not gonna list down here.
This is not a complain, hate post or any sort of that crap. Just telling how things are.
And anyone saying that 100ms is good, is wrong.

Waiting for "get better internet" replies..
ping doesn't affect click speed, however I think it does affect click registry unless I'm a complete idiot :-:

It's not like you can get mad at people for being "pingers" or "pinging" It's not like people can control how good or bad there ping is.. You can't just tell someone to buy bad internet or move to another country to make it a fair fight lol

Ok hearing the word 'pinger' makes me cringe, ping doesnt matter that much.

Alright,

The main topic revolving around this thread (referring to the title now) was the simple fact that apparently PvP is all about skill and it has suddenly shifted towards "Pingers".

I personally agree that skill isn't the only lone factor in regards to PvP although I also agree that it still plays a decently huge role in it regardless.

Answer me this : Who would win in a close combat fight, a person with no skill whatsoever, yet has tremendously low ping (20 ping, for example) or a highly skilled player with well over 200 ping? (In other words, me with 20 ping or Huahwi with >200 ping?)

People may answer with "the player with no skill but lower ping" simply because of the sheer fact that if he/she were to have more efficient latency (ping) then he/she may react more quickly and swiftly. Although he/she has little-to-no knowledge/skill of PvP at all and simply wouldn't know what tactic to execute and when etc.

Whereas (possibly) a portion of people may have chosen "the player with late, high latency, yet outstanding skill in general PvP" when it's the complete vice versa of the previous choice - efficient knowledge of PvP, yet slow, late attack responses, making it ultimately logically undecidable.

Of course, there may be some slight chances that one would defeat the other but I'm more or less describing the general majority of the outcome(s).

You see? Both categories contain pro's and con's and their own unique slight advantages and disadvantage.

Therefore, skill and ping do in fact play a major role in terms of PvP and there's ultimately no doubt about that. But there's (generally) no one category more superior/better than the other is the general message in which i'm attempting to send across

I get 100ms and its playable, and there isnt really any difference between 100ms and like 40ms, just that slight 0.5 sec rod, kb, and bow delay, ping does not matter unless its 200ms+ , there is no such thing as ''pinger'' :))))))))

Can confirm this. After I started pinging I went from 0 to 9001 elo. Also this is why I have never heard of any famous UK, France or Aussie players.

I honesly cant tell the difference in melee when my ping is 80 and when its 120, ping really doesnt affect pvp all that much. The only complaint I have when my ping goes to like 120-130 is that I can't rod as well.

the problem is the rod and bow delay. if theres no such thing as rod or bows, nobody would be complaining about ping at all in minecraft but the rod delay makes it hard to predict where your opponent is once your rod comes out(talking about 200+ ping) if the pinger is an average badlion player vs a 200 pinger amazing at pvp, the pinger will win because the rods and bows are easier to predict(not counting kohi or gapple because for me they are just like hand exercises)

I've played with 100+ and 50, and I've never noticed much of a difference. If anything, I fought better with higher ping. Both have their advantages. Higher ping, to an extent, can be helpful because you could have just the right amount of delay to get hits your opponent wouldn't manage, although lower allows you faster reactions. Of course there's rod and bow delay once you get up to around 150ms, but that's something that you can get used to with time.
