Hello. OCN can be very back and forth with who the winner is, even if one person has more skill. Since the games are so quick, especially in iron, you tend to lose sometimes to people who are worse than you because they got one combo. I sit in around in 1800-1900 in elo, and it's very hard to grow, because I usually win about 6 games and then lose one, rinse repeat. When you lose 1 out of 6 games at 1800, your elo actually goes down.What I would like is if OCN was round based, so that if you are the better player but you lose one round you can still win the game.
Advantages
-Causes less running away (Only way for a good player to compensate for doing a bit worse is running atm)
-OCN more skill based
-Less extreme rage when losing a stupid fight
Disadvantages
-OCN is nice because it's short, this would make the games longer
-Gain elo more slowly in OCN
All and all-
I think this would be a good addition to the OCNs. Post thoughts.

-1Its your fault if you lose a match, no matter how it played out. Just vote or donate, then regain ELO like mad.
Also, some people have limited time to play on Badlion. This would only limit the amount of matches they could play.

I don't see how playing slightly longer matches really limits anything. You do just as much fighting, I don't see how the amount of matches really changes anything. Yes it's your fault if you lose, but everyone loses sometimes, because of how it played out. With that logic you could put vanilla as a one hit kill with a sword, and say "you don't need more fighting than that to determine skill. It's your fault you lost."

What happens when you get a camping fag? Where you get 2-3 big maps in a row and then their just sitting in one of corners, it takes you 4-5 minutes to find them then they bowspam you, and run again. When if it was only 1 round (how it is now) that'd constantly happen, then the map would end because of the 10 minute timer.
As people said, it's your fault if you died, go practice in potion pvp to get better at strafing and shit. I play OCN a lot, and I rarely get a fight where I get #thedombostain and can't bring back from it, because even w/ critical hits in iron OCN, it takes 4-6 hits to kill them. Thus, if someone is worse than you but they get that 1 dombo, you can still run from it, play the game smart, or you can take back like I naturally do and get your opponent.
I'm 1900 in Diamond and about 1800 in Iron OCN's, I do understand that every once in a while you get a person that kills you w/ a lucky dombo, but even if, it won't happen again, and you should win more than 6 matches then loose. I went 96 - 5 and I'm not even that great a player (in diamond ocn)

Hmm. It seems like the reasoning against my idea is purely the time the game takes. I guess I'm just a lot more patient than most people :p
I do agree that in extreme cases it would be pretty monotonous.
How about smaller maps for OCN iron and round based? So it takes around the same amount of time but makes it so noobs can't win from a lucky dombo?
Perhaps I'm looking for a perfect solution to make things skill based and not annoying which doesn't exist.

I was actually thinking of that, not the more rounds-wise, but maps SPECIFICALLY for each ladder.Like, the map https://www.badlion.net/match/kitpvp/1428792 is WAY too small for a vanilla game, where if someone uses full splashes extremely fast and rushes your spawn, you don't even have time to react before their critting you senseless, and lots of the time you hit them with your pearl, or something else in your way. That plays out for all maps, but especially small maps like that.
And like https://www.badlion.net/match/kitpvp/1428539 map plays out GREAT for Iron OCN and sometimes Diamond OCN matches. And the staff could always create more maps if they wanted too.

+1 we need maps built for specific gamemodes because a lot of maps designed for vanilla pvp play like shit in iron ocn, diamond ocn, uhc, etc. Those maps need to be more open because of how bow based they are. I can't count how many fights I've lost because the terrain is so anti bow.
