Okay personally I feel like Badlion should have an immediate vote on the usage of lava in the kit "Build UHC". The vote would be split into 4 options as follows:

OPTION 1:

Keep the kit exactly how it is. I a minority of people would want lava to stay. However more people use other fire weapons in actual UHC, such as Flint & Steel / Fire Aspect 1 Iron Swords (Could be altered to wooden, so duel wielding becomes a higher possibility in Arena PvP.

OPTION 2:

Change the lava to a Flint & Steel. This would be a highly desired change in my opinion. It would add more Survival Games type of PvP which is now quite common in the Hosted Badlion UHC's. Another reason for this is that the Lava can sometimes lag and show that it is there but it isnt. This would be gone in an Flint & Steel. However some people would say limit the F n S to lets say 25 hits so people cant F'n'S spam on the floor forever.

OPTION 3:

Add Fire Aspect Wooden / Golden Swords with a certain amount of hits so you have to be strategic in your play style. I think this is more like how UHC is in 100x100 border/meetup.

OPTION 4:

Remove all Lava and fire in Kit Build UHC this would dramatically change the kit however it would fix lava lagging and also would make it so people cant get trapped in lava placements; OR You could just make it so lava cannot be placed on the walls of the arena. So lava wont flow which can be very annoying to higher elo players.

Honestly, since Build UHC has been introduced, there anywise has been a "opposing force" towards the lava buckets in Build UHC. If you were to exchange the lava for a different item, you most likely would run into even more people that are going to angered by the changed to the kit after spending so long incorporating lava into UHC PvP.

This is just my two cents and many may have other opinions
