As much as I agree with almost all decisions of the staff members, I have to say this is an extremely petty rule especially for a spoiler. If anything they should be muted from speaking but a ban for doing said things is leaning on the more ludicrous side. Imagine someone wanting to converse to his friend about it getting banned for seven days. I just think this rule needs to be reviewed before the implementation is solidified. Administration don't take this the wrong way however, I don't agree with such a rule for moreover it leads to ask the question why isn't this applied to all new movies such as MockingJay. Do we judge what is and is not allowed based on the beliefs of influential authority figures and specific likes and attractions of certain people. Nevertheless, any response regarding my statement would be tremendously appreciated for I think this would be better decided on a vote on the matter.

This is by far the most wanted movie of the decade. Not to mention you have two owners who are huge Star Wars fans. There are plenty of other places to discuss the movie, our server is not the place.

There is no discussion here.

I just want to understand your opinion correctly, and am not trying to start a flame war or foul exchanges as some users within this community. However, I want to comprehend your statement correctly before making any sudden assumptions. So what you are proposing to me is that this is a rule because this is the most wanted movie of the decade and because I would infer Archy and yourself really like the movie. Please do correct me if I interpreted you incorrectly for I do not want to deliver a twisted remark. Anyhow, if my understanding is correct I would have to state that you stated some invalid statements. To begin with, the most wanted movies of our generation were the Titanic, Avatar and the Avengers based on polls and sales and I did not see a rule when the Avengers came out. I can relate how unfortunate spoiling is and I do agree that users should be punished there is no conversation there. However, to be honest I have watched Star Wars and personally do not even care about the viewing of this movie which is why I suggested we should have a vote on said matters for I believe the majority of users on Badlion would disagree with the implementation of a seven day ban. I also assumed that rules and regulations were determined on popular belief but it seems I was incorrect based on my current understand of your statement. Finally, I myself love to converse with my friends on Badlion for fun so I can see various slip ups occurring that would get innocent players banned who do not even know about the rule. Especially since this is posted over an announcement on the forums and I doubt most of the players on Badlion use the forums yet alone read certain rules. Anyway this is my interpretation and response to your statement and I am not trying to offend you or Archy in anyway shape or form and respect your final decision. All I want is for you to review my comment and perhaps understand my point of view on the matter.

My personal sentiment here goes against that of the admins, and I believe that a week ban over movie spoilers is over the top. However, this is a final decision, and there's no discussion to be had here. It's simple, and I'm unsure as to what you're finding difficult to interpret here. I don't believe Badlion has ever guaranteed a popular vote for decisions, and I'm curious about how and why you assumed that. However from my experience and history with the admins, I feel that they tend to make decisions with the benefit of the server's users in mind. Be it a decision made with thinking or feeling, almost all decisions they've made put their players first. Banning for spoiling seems extreme to me, but it hasn't led to any ramifications that may contradict my previous statement. I also personally believe that popular vote isn't always the way to go; the archer ladder kit this season and lack of global mute during the Paris attacks were both decided by popular vote, and I'm not particularly fond of what came of the decisions. As for the innocent players getting banned for spoiling – the rules are right here and there are (if I remember correctly) in-game alerts that warn players about spoiling the movie. Innocent? I think not.

The tl;dr of this thread is being a general dick in the community and trying to ruin other people's experiences has always been frowned upon. We are just taking a very strong approach with this particular issue because

1. We are both fans of it
2. It's by far (and will remain) the most looked forward to movie(s) of the decade.

Not a single person spoiled the Avengers movie, I just went through and checked for common names and plot devices through the logs. A rule was needed for Star wars since EVERYONE was doing it. Rules are made when problems need to be fixed, and this rule expires in 4 days anyways.
