1.7 PvP and Gameplay Pros- Most of the time you will have advantages in sword fighting with the way hit registration, cps, and hitboxes work in 1.7
- Blockhitting animations make it easier for people to blockhit (personal preference)
- More FPS (only for some people)
- You can break blocks while eating, attacking, blocking, bowing (makes it easier to pot because you can right click and left click at the same time unlike in 1.8)
(Take note that people who are playing 1.8 fighting against players using 1.7 usually end up with really awkward sword fights. 1.8 vs 1.8 is much smoother in my opinion)
1.8 PvP and Gameplay Pros
- You will have the advantage in bowfighting because of less bow delay and the way the hitboxes and hit registration work
- Connection to the server is improved greatly, making everything register more quickly
- Rod combos can be extremely OP in 1.8 vs 1.8

not only that but you could break blocks while aiming your bow which was good for cave fights and also if you wanted to pot right clicking wouldn't interfere with it lol. I still stand by the statement that 1.8 pvp is horrible for pot but that's really it.

Yup which shows overall 1.7 would be more useful.

The Way I see it:1.7
Hits are very "fleshy." Depending on the situation you don't seem to take alot of knockback. Clickspeed does seem to effect PVP.
1.8
Hits are very "direct." When in a 1v1, there aren't really much combos, you just mainly trade hits. Clickspeed dosen't effect PVP as much.
