Minecraft Armor Enchantments are useful in many different situations. Keep reading to find out about the Best Minecraft Armor Enchantments you should use when playing Minecraft 1.19.4.
Unbreaking and Mending
Every part of your Armor can be enchanted with both Unbreaking III and Mending. The Unbreaking enchantment will increase the time it takes for your Armor to break, and the Mending enchantment in Minecraft will make it repairable with just Experience Orbs that you can, for example, get from your Enderman Farm or your Mob Dropper. The easiest and most efficient way to obtain Mending is through trading with a librarian villager for an enchanted book with Mending, as you can keep trading indefinitely. Simply craft a lectern, find a Minecraft village, and then place the lectern next to a villager with no profession. Once you have done so, the villager should turn into a librarian villager, and you can start trading. If the villager does not offer a mending book, simply break the lectern, wait for their occupation to reset, and place it again. Note, if you trade at all with the villager, you will no longer be able to change the profession of the villager.
You can not only obtain Mending this way but also most of the other enchantments. Another way of obtaining enchantments is by enchanting your items in an enchantment table with Lapis Lazuli. If you have a level 30 enchantment, then enchanting a piece of your Armor with Unbreaking III will also very likely give you another enchantment that may be on this list, which could save you plenty of time. You can also obtain the most enchantments by fishing, but even the best-enchanted fishing rods will require you to bring a lot of patience with you.
Protection, Projectile Protection, Blast Protection or Fire Protection?
Now let us take a look at reducing the damage you receive by enchanting your armor. You can enchant each individual armor piece with either Protection IV, Projectile Protection IV, Blast Protection IV, or Fire Protection IV. You cannot enchant a helmet with Protection and Projectile Protection, for example, so you have to choose one. The Protection enchantment is the most commonly used one as it overall adds bonus damage reduction and is useful in most scenarios. Projectile Protection reduces the damage taken from projectiles, Blast Protection from explosions and fireworks, and Fire Protection from fire sources. We recommend you go with Protection IV, but you should choose the one that you personally prefer the most. You could technically also enchant each piece of your armor with one of these four.
Thorns
You can apply the Thorns III enchantment to every piece of your armor. This Minecraft enchantment causes the attacker to be damaged when they damage you. If you were to duel your friend and he were to hit you, there would be a probability that he would get up to two hearts damage from hitting you. However, this power also comes with a negative aspect, as the durability of your armor will go down quicker with the enchantment than without. If you enchant your Armor with Mending and Unbreaking III, then this should not pose too big of a problem.
Respiration and Aqua Affinity
The Respiration and Aqua Affinity Minecraft enchantments can only be applied to your helmet. Respiration III is the highest attainable level and will allow you to stay underwater for a minute as it extends the breathing time by 15 seconds per enchantment level.
If you have ever tried to mine something underwater, you probably noticed that it takes 5 times as long to mine the block. The Aqua Affinity enchantment removes that penalty and allows you to mine as fast underwater as on land.
Swift Sneak and Soul Speed
The Minecraft 1.19 update introduced a new enchantment called Swift Sneak, which you can obtain from Ancient Cities and apply to your leggings. As the name already suggests, it allows you to move faster while sneaking. Swift Sneak III, which is the highest level, increases your movement speed while sneaking by 75%. This enchantment is a must-have if you build a lot of farms.
Soul Speed III is a treasure enchantment that you should consider for your boots. It can be obtained via bartering with piglins and increases your speed when walking on soul sand or soul soil.
Feather Falling and Depth Strider
And last but not least, the part of your armor that could save you after falling from a cliff and forgetting your water bucket in your base, the boots. Once enchanted with Feather Falling IV, the maximum level, your boots will reduce 48% of your fall damage.
You also get to choose between the Depth Strider III and the Frost Walker II Enchantment, as your boots can only be enchanted with one of these two. Depth Strider increases your underwater movement speed, and Frost Walker allows you to walk over water as your boots will create frosted ice under you while walking. Overall, we recommend you stick to the Depth Strider enchantment, as it is more beneficial than the Frost Walker enchantment in most cases.
Keep track of your Armor's Durability
If you do not have the Mending enchantment on a piece of your armor, then we recommend you use a Minecraft Mod that will display the durability that the armor piece still has left so that you know when to repair it and do not lose it because of it breaking. If you do not want to update your Minecraft Mods whenever a new Minecraft version is released or do not want to wait for your favorite mods to be updated for the latest version, you should download the Badlion Client, as it offers more than 100 Minecraft mods for you to choose from, such as the Armor Status Mod that is very beneficial if you do not have Mending. Downloading and installing the Badlion Client can be done in these few steps:
1. Download the Badlion Client from:
https://client.badlion.net/.
2. Launch the Badlion Client Launcher and pick the version of Minecraft you want to use. For this example, it would be 1.19.4. Activate OptiFine in the Launcher and it will install the most up-to-date, stable version for you.
3. As soon as the game is loaded, you can either join your already existing Survival world, create one, or join your friend on a Minecraft server. Then, press the "Right-Shift" button on your keyboard to open the mod menu and search for the "Armor Status" Minecraft mod and enable it. You can, of course, further customize it to adjust it to your personal preference.
