The day/night cycle is one of Minecraft's oldest features. Ever since its addition, players have wondered how to change the time of day in Minecraft. In this article, we will show you how to use the Minecraft set time command to make it a day in Minecraft.
In addition, we will show you how to change the time of day on a Minecraft server without needing special permission using the Minecraft Time Changer mod.
How to set it to day in Minecraft
To make it day in Minecraft, follow these three simple steps:
- Open the Chat Bar - Press "T" to open chat when using Minecraft Java Edition. Press the chat icon at the top of your in-game screen for Minecraft Pocket Edition.
- Type the Minecraft set time command - With the Minecraft chat bar open, type /time set day to set the time to day. Alternatively, you can use /time set noon, which will set the time to 12 pm, or /time set night, which will change the time in Minecraft to night, or 8 pm. If you are on Minecraft Bedrock Edition, you can even use the command /time set sunset or /time set sunrise!
- Run the command to change the time to day - Once you have typed out the desired command, hit enter (or the send icon if on Minecraft PE), and the time of day should be changed immediately.

What to do if you get "unknown or incomplete command, see below for error" in Minecraft
If you get this error while trying to change the time of day in Minecraft, then you are probably playing in a world with cheats disabled. In order to use the /time set day command, your world must have cheats enabled.

How to change the time of day on any Minecraft Server with the Minecraft Time Changer mod
Minecraft servers can be particularly annoying to play on since, under normal conditions, players must all be sleeping in beds to change the time of day. Doing this on servers without the aid of special plugins is a great challenge.
So how can you change the time of day on any Minecraft server without needing command permissions? The answer is the Minecraft Time Changer mod. This free-to-use mod allows Minecraft players to change their time of day.
How to install the Minecraft Time Changer Mod
The easiest way to install and start using the Time Changer mod in Minecraft is to use a Minecraft Client, such as
Badlion Client or Lunar Client. However, since Badlion Client features, on average
more FPS, we highly recommend using it to install and use the Time Changer mod in Minecraft. To do this, follow the steps below!
#1 Download a client/mod pack containing the Minecraft Time Changer ModTo do this,
we recommend downloading the Badlion Client. Once downloaded, follow the installation prompt, after which you should see the Badlion Client launcher on your desktop.
#2 Launch your desired Minecraft VersionClick on the Badlion Client icon to open the Minecraft launcher, then select your desired version of Minecraft. Press launch and Minecraft will start up!
#3 Enable the mod in-gameOnce Minecraft has started, enter a Minecraft world or server, then click right-shift. This will open the mod menu. At the top, search for "Time Changer," then enable the first Minecraft mod that appears.
How to use the Minecraft Time Changer mod
To use the Time Changer to change time in Minecraft, click on the Time Changer mod in the mod menu. This will open its settings, where you will find a slider for "Day." Adjusting this slider allows you to adjust the time of day in Minecraft.
In addition, you can freeze or stop Minecraft's day/night cycle and even change the Overworld sky type to either the Nether or The End.
The major benefit of using the Minecraft Time Changer mod is that it will work on any server, even if you do not have command permissions. The only downside is that the mod changes the time of day from your perspective, not the actual time of day in the world. This means that monsters can still spawn if you have the Time Changer set to day.
With that said, this mod has numerous benefits, so head over to the
Badlion Client Download page to download the Minecraft Time Changer mod today and play Minecraft like never before!
