The Minecraft Just Enough Items Mod

There are over 350 craftable blocks and items in Minecraft. Do you know how to craft all of them? Sure, many players will learn how to craft the most essential items. However, most players, if not all, will need to look up the recipe for some obscure item or block required for a build at some point in their Minecraft journey. This is where the Minecraft Just Enough Items mod comes in handy. Using an in-game GUI, you can look up the crafting recipe for any item in the game. No longer do you need to tab out to browse the depths of the internet just to find a crafting recipe. This article will show you how to install and start using the Just Enough Items mod so you no longer have to worry about crafting recipes again!

How to install Just Enough Items

To Install the Just Enough Items Minecraft mod, start by downloading Badlion Client here. Badlion Client is a single download Minecraft mod pack that contains 100+ mods and countless Minecraft FPS/Quality of Life improvements. In addition, Badlion Client allows you to seamlessly use the Just Enough Items mod with the most popular Minecraft versions, such as 1.8.9, 1.12, 1.16.5, and 1.19.2, just to name a few. In addition, Badlion Client is constantly updated to support the newest versions of Minecraft. This means you can start playing with your favorite Minecraft Mods as soon as new versions become available. Because of this simplicity, using Badlion Client is the quickest and easiest way to install and start using Just Enough Items in Minecraft.

Once downloaded, run the Badlion Client installer and follow the instructions when prompted. After the installation is complete, you should see the Badlion Client launcher appear on your desktop. Open the launcher and launch your desired Minecraft version using the steps shown below.


Once you are in-game, you will need to enable the Just Enough Items mod. To do this, type "Just Enough Items" into the search bar in the top right corner.


If you do not see the mod appear, you may need to add the mod from the "Add mods menu." Once you have found the mod, add it, then it should appear in the main mod menu.

How to use Just Enough Items

To use the Minecraft Just Enough Items mod, simply open your inventory. You should see a new GUI on your screen's right side. Contained in this GUI are all the blocks/items available to you. To navigate the menu, you can either use the scroll bar on the right side or the search bar at the bottom.


Once you have found an item of your choice, you can look up the crafting recipe by clicking on it in the menu. Once clicked on, you should see a new GUI popup in the center of your screen. This GUI will contain a crafting table containing the blocks/pattern required to craft the desired item.


In addition to seeing the crafting recipes from the main Just Enough Items GUI, you can also click on items in the crafting GUI to see their recipes. This is helpful for items that require additional crafted items to make. For example, crafting a Minecraft sticky piston will require crafting a regular piston, which requires crafting planks.

Just Enough Items settings/features

Clicking on the Just Enough Items mod in-game will allow you to set a keybind for "check hovered item recipe," one of JEI's most helpful features. To set this keybind, click on the gray box next to the setting and click your desired key. Once set, you can hover over any item in your inventory, press the Just Enough Items mod keybind you set, and a crafting GUI showing the selected item's crafting recipe will appear.

While a relatively small mod, Just Enough Items removes the burden of keeping track of hundreds of Minecraft crafting recipes.
