The Minecraft Llama was introduced in the 1.11 The Exploration Update. Even before its addition the Llama was a fan favorite, it is one of the first mobs that got added through online polls. Jeb, one of the Minecraft Designers made a Twitter poll where he asked Minecraft fans to choose between Llamas and Alpacas.
Minecraft Llamas can be customized and used to carry chests and items if you are going on an adventure and require more space for items.
Minecraft llamas spawn in herds of 4-6 llamas and players can find them in the following biomes:
Llamas in Minecraft spawn in 4 different coat colors; brown, cream, white or gray. A Wandering Trader spawns with 2 leashed Llamas. Trader Llamas get their name because they follow the Wandering Trader. Only 10% of Llamas spawn as baby Llamas.
Minecraft Llamas eat Wheat and Hay Bales. To feed them you need to take a few pieces of Wheat or Hay Bales in your hand and right click on the Llama. This will benefit the Llama in three ways. It will heal the Llama, it will help baby Llamas grow faster, and it will speed up the process of taming a Minecraft Llama.
Out of the two items that you can feed them with, you can only use the Hay Bales to breed Minecraft Llamas. To breed them, we have to tame them first. You can only breed adult Llamas that you have tamed. Baby Llamas take about 20 minutes to grow up, but you can make them grow faster by feeding them.
Players can ride Minecraft Llamas, but they cannot control them. Putting a saddle on a Llama in Minecraft is not possible. Although, you can use a lead to guide the Llama.
You can put a carpet on a Minecraft Llama to customize it, you can use any colored carpet and it will have a unique design. Also, putting on a chest will grant you more storage space while traveling.
Llamas in Minecraft are neutral mobs. If a player attacks them, they will fight back by spitting and dealing damage to the player. When a Llama spits on another Llama, they will fight. Also, a Wandering Trader's Llama spits at enemies or players who attack the Wandering Trader.
