Quitting Minecraft // Final Forum Post

Hey everyone,
I am writing this very late at night so please excuse any mistakes or errors that I may make throughout this document. As you’ve seen from the tweet name, I am going to be quitting Minecraft, but Badlion specifically. I have met lots of my friends on Badlion and I am grateful for everything that is has offered me, but I feel like every good thing must come to an end. If you are a true friend, you may read on and I may include some stuff about you in there, but if you’re short on time, then just know that you may not see me anymore and reading this may be a good waste of time for you. It has taken me a lot of thinking to write this and officially say I am quitting, so please wait to the end for my reasoning and information/
First off, I want to talk about my first experiences with Badlion. I started playing Badlion in Spring of 2014. In my first UHC game, my friend got banned for X-Ray. Now, I have nothing against Badlion, but the community of AU has gotten to a point where I cannot handle. I turned chat off for a good month last year because of the toxicity and hate towards the community, but that didn’t seem to fix the problem. I then started minimodding chat. I know it’s annoying as fuck, but it’s what I did to keep the server as clean as I could, and I really don’t understand why people still call me a minimod, it’s fucking 2016 now. AU hasn’t been very welcoming and polite towards me, and it has driven me away from trying to play Badlion or try to play games, hencevhkhkg why I had 0 ranked matches played, because I didn’t want everyone calling me some shitty minimod who can’t PVP. Badlion has been my home for a long time, all my friends are usually on. I love all of the people that I’ve met and talked to in the past year and a half playing. Another reason I am quitting is because I didn’t get Host. Now I know this sounds like some butt hurt reason, but UHC host had always been a goal for me since I started playing on the server. I attempted many times and now I have realised I am not good enough for the role. The wait to see if I was accepted or not is why I am typing this now, not 2 weeks ago. I do not hate Badlion, I just generally don’t enjoy it as much as I used to.
I’d secondly like to discuss that Badlion and Minecraft in general has been a massive distraction lately. I’ve been handing in my homework half complete and have had incomplete assignments already this year, and it’s because Badlion has been distracting and Minecraft. I enjoy the game, but it’s getting in the way and this is the only way to stop that addiction and hopefully get me back on track to graduate high school with good marks. To put it on scale for you people, I am an A Student, receiving B-‘s right now. That is not somewhere that I want to be throughout 9th grade.
Now I want to discuss my relation and friends on Badlion. I am friends will almost every single host, or meme-based player on AU. I am not a sweat or a tryhard. I play UHC for the enjoyment of chat, not to sweat every win and kill I get. I’d personally like to thank Connie, the one who got me to where I am today. If it wasn’t for you, I’d probably still be that Lion just minimodding, not knowing half the people I do right now. I’d also like to thank Beth for keeping me on track and trying to get me to stay. You two are great friends and I will keep in touch with you guys. I am not quitting Twitter or any of my social medias. I am taking a quit from Minecraft.
