Hey everyone,I am a decent player most of the time (finished 111th in global ELO one season!) but lately I have been having a ton of trouble with melee. I'm not sure why, but it really has been pretty bad so if anyone has any advice I would be happy to hear it because I haven't been able to do very well in the ladders I'm normally good at.
I included a (REALLY CRINGEY) video here just so you guys can see what I'm talking about and how I melee and what mistakes I'm making.
Thanks for the help! :)

1. I would recommend turning your sensitivity down if you find your aim being too shaky2. Just generally practice aiming in general, turn on hitboxes if it helps you
3. You are blockhitting in situations where it is only hindering you. If you are rushing someone head on (2:20) dont just stand 3 blocks away from them and start blockhitting. Either strafe to the right or left or get close to them and crit them out
4. Btw you do realize you can change your kit right

1. Jitterclick2. W tap
3.Don't blockhit so much
4. Use your bow to set up combos (for diamond)
5. Strafe
6. Play Pot Pvp
7. Hotkey
8. Get ToggleSneak
That's all I got

When is it good to blockhit and when is it not? Also what does W tapping do to help win?
See these things are why I'm not very good xD

I only really ever blockhit when I am in very close quarters and I want to put some distance between us (or pretty much anytime when i need to conserve armor in gapple)Posted on 20 March 2016 - 10:13 PM

Blockhit to start a combo or when you start to go inside them to deal more kb. Do w tapping the same as blockhitting but just let go of w and quickly hold it again.

a general rule to follow:Stick to what you like. I personally use 1500 dpi & 100 in game sens despite how low most other players of my caliber go. If you always change your sens, you'll never get good aim. Pick one and stick to it.

Personally I alternate between blockhitting and w tapping depending on whatever I feel like. But blockhitting is needed to get high elo in GApple.

Blockhitting isn't needed to get a high gapple elo lol

strafingalso another strategy is to constantly enter and exit their reach, thus w-tapping

Make sure to hitbthem with the rod and then click fast and aim good?Posted on 21 March 2016 - 12:16 PM
Throw your sword away, pull out a bow and start arrowingPosted on 21 March 2016 - 02:12 PM
I'm not really one to give Pvp tips as I'm not amazing at it, but here are some of the basics that got me to 1900 build last season (I know that's bad chill \o/)Practice - I know that's what everyone says, but really it does help. A couple ranked matches a day can get your skills up a little bit, and you will gradually get better overtime.
Rod - The rod is practically essential if you have it - especially on badlion as it is used ALOT. Having under 100 ping is ideal for rodding, as it is easier to time it and getting that perfect combo. Also, when you hit that rod hit you should strafe either left or right, as it could confuse your opponent.
Strafing - Strafing helps more than you think, and the one that works for me the best is a right strafe, or an a-d strafe (left to right) when you are rodding. If you're going to do practice a-d, I recommend an unranked kit with a rod, and then when you land a rod hit hold d for half a second, then a for half a second, and so on.
Good luck dood ;)

Thank you everyone so much for commenting on this and helping me out! I know it has been only one day and TBH I'm not quite used to the w-tapping method yet and my strafing is wildly erratic but I can feel myself getting better, so thanks :)I'm probably not gonna check this post regularly anymore, so while future tips are great, just know that I might not see it quickly at all.
It's nice to know that the Badlion community is one that I can look to for support :D

Also don't strafe in one direction, alternate.
