Hi, could anyone help me? I have a Lenovo Y70 touch that is a very good laptop and when running MC with optifine I only get 60 fps… But it's not even 60 fps, it's really choppy 60 FPS. I updated NVidia and the game has 4GB of ram allocated to it. For comparison, it can run CS:GO at medium settings at 250 FPS… So why is this happening?Posted on 21 March 2016 - 01:44 AM
Is your Max Framerate capped at 60? I assume it might be locked at 60 and is just fluctuating from there making it feel choppy. Also try turning off v-sync (vertical sync) in NVIDIA settings. I had issues with Minecraft fps when I upgraded to my 760ti and just messed with mc/nvidia settings and it ended up fixing it.Last edited on 21 March 2016 - 06:50 AM by Cavasi
Yeah turn off v-sync in NVIDIA settings and in game.Keep your FPS uncapped or far away from 60

go to options.txt in the minecraft folder, and set max fps to 100000000. Literally helps, since minecraft's "unlimited" fps is actually only ~260, even if the f3 pane shows a different number (I heard it in a video). Even if your pc can't reach 10000000 the cap on it is so large there won't be any restraints on your performance. VSync works if you have a good monitorPosted on 21 March 2016 - 02:47 PM

Also, in your display settings for your monitor/laptop screen, make sure your refresh rate (Hz) is set above 60, or the highest settings.

Right click on your desktop and click where it says "NVIDIA Control Pannel", once that opens under the "3D Settings" tab click "Manage 3D settings" ( https://gyazo.com/2074c6eb04c9e92cb182a8a5b4d7719b ). Then where it says "Global Settings" you need to scroll all the way down to where you see "Vertical Sync" and change it to Off if it is On. ( https://gyazo.com/40b2a3eb48c5cd3f730565a8e520084e ).
