I've noticed that many good/decent players (1900 Elo+) many times eat gapples when they have less than 6/10 hearts. Most of the times, they do this when they fighting better than their opponent. Why do they do this tho? Isn't it better to get to 10 hearts by eating a head? Or do they just prefer to leave the heads for the last minutes?Personally, I always prefer to eat a head if I have 6 or less hearts.

idk if I'm considered high elo (I was 2150 last season) but whenever I get that low and I'm winning the fight, I know I can out-trade my opponent. That means I can use a gapple and even if he uses a head, I'll still come out equal or better in the exchange, and secure the fight for longer (as I have a head that he already used).Last edited on 21 March 2016 - 07:40 AM by Jahmyr
I was 2050 last season, and I always gappled at 6 hearts or up, since the absorption and all that will bring you to 10. Below 6 I would eat a head. Below 3 I would eat a head and a gapple, no use eating 2 heads imo. (I never let my health go down that much though) Also try to save heads by backing out of fights as soon as you get a little low.Posted on 21 March 2016 - 11:54 AM

I usually use a gapple so I can have extra healing if I'm doing decent in the fight as it's not very hard to turn the fight around. Unless I'm less than 4 hearts down I always eat a gapple.Posted on 21 March 2016 - 06:02 PM
