Er, cutclean takes out furnaces, still one of the most popular gm's. Horseless takes out horses, diamondless and goldless takes out mining for ores, also barebones. Soup takes out golden apple healing if they have a sufficient amount of soups. timebomb takes out having to pickup items, a "vital component" in minecraft

On one hand, yes, you are absolutely right. On the other hand, removing fall damage completely changes the way people would play and overall it would make the game a lot easier. I think that is something that none of the other gamemodes have in common. I'd compare this to having fire res all the time (also suggested)
