are absorption hearts counted when shooting in build?

I just saw Hivlik's road to global Elo, and when a guy was at 8.0 just after eating a gapple he said "He's at 8 plus absorption"I always thought absorption was counted on the total hearts, unless someone was at 10 hearts plus absorption.
Does this mean, for example, if someone has 3 hearts plus absorption if I shoot a very weak shot then it will display 3 hearts in my chat?

Really? When I shoot a bow and it shows their health, it counts their absorption…maybe a bug? idk

Absorption isn't counted. 6 hearts + 2 absorption will, for example, display as 6, not 8.Just tested with an alt.

Wow, I must have lost so many fights because of not counting absorption. Thinking someone has 8 hearts instead of 10 :(

Do people not know this? lolAbsorbtion isn't counted.
