In my opinion there are 3 categories of ladders, not 2. (melee, half-and-half, bow)Melee: Vanilla, Kohi, Nodebuff, GApple, Skywars, Diamond, Soup
Half-and-half: (these would be ladders where the bow is a very powerful additional weapon alongside sword) IronBuildUHC, BuildUHC, SG (bows in SG can easily kill, bows in Build/Iron can drain tons of gapples)
Bow: Advanced UHC, UHC, Archer, Horse, Iron

I would say iron is half and half but accurate for the most part
