Hello Badlion Members,I recently made a lot of redesigns for the Badlion site. I got a lot of positive reactions. I saw that a lot off people are using the +1 and -1.
My new redesign is about the forum rating. A simple feature could be added to change the mess that we have now. A lot of people have 1000+ Post, and 90% of them are only a +1.
My Idea for the Forum threads.

There is a Green and a Red button to rate the Thread. This way its easier to see what the community wants. More ideas from the community can be added this way too.
You can Rate once, Abusing the system is almost not possible. Dislike bots are not possible because your account is identical with our Minecraft accounts.
This idea can be added to the Forum:
- Announcements
- Ideas/Suggestions
- More Soon.
Hopefully you guys like this Thread again!
Rate this thread with +1 or -1
;P

Yeah, you know, once upon a time, I used to want this. At least, I wanted just an upvote button. But over time I've realized how much I was denying and shutting out my true feelings. Essentially, you want it to be like Reddit. Reddit's threaded conversations and upvote/downvote system put every poster into a hierchy of popularity and deadlocks the conversation. To put it in big pal Chris' words, 'Identity of those who comment seems to matter more than the comment itself.' It sacrifices giving its users equal voice for the sake of convenience. It was not designed to represent diverse opinions of every one of its user. Rather, it's designed in such a way that you can just read first few comments with upvotes and think 'oh, that's pretty cool.'The current format isn't just validated by itself–it's validated by all the forums, imageboards, and textboards where they use very similar format. The bump and float system gives every comment the equal chance to be seen. The posting format gives everyone a equal voice, making identity of the poster irrelevant. The power of making conversations and expressing oneself is completely controlled by the user, rather than the reputation and the upvotes.
Believe me, this system can be abused to no end. You're going to start seeing a virtual Minecraft popularity contest.
By the way, did you know the majority isn't always right? Sometimes the majority doesn't know what it wants and plays hive-mind with itself, shutting out opinions that are just as valid and possibly may contain more merit. We see it right here, actually. Up to now, I've only seen drone-like replies for the most part in this thread with little contribution. You'll see that the argument's underdeveloped and that there's another side to it all. It's like you're plotting your nation's own destruction.

Maybe if a post gets something like 20-25 +1's it will automatically tag the devs/admins.Posted on 02 April 2016 - 09:18 PM

Are you a writer?

We're all writers here, but whether we choose to label ourselves as such is an entirely different matter. I spend much of my time alone writing, be it while tapping away on a mobile phone, drawing out shapes of characters on slates of air, or while simply etching my thoughts in my diary. Calling oneself a writer is not as easy as it would seem, however. We're all handwriting, typing, and stroking our stained brush tips against vegetable fibered paper, but whether we would like to call ourselves writers is a choice that comes with how much of a role writing plays in our lives. I have many hobbies, but writing is often prioritized among them. So yes, I would consider myself a writer.
