hi, you don't necessarily need hotkeys to be good, its honestly personal preference. there are many amazing pvpers that use the scroll wheel like xNestorio :)Posted on 13 April 2016 - 11:15 AM

I'm not going to say I'm a god PvPer or even good at all, but I play on a piece-of-trash PC that gets between 30 and 40 FPS at best, and I've gotten to a little over 1550 Build elo a few times in the past.But to get on topic, rodding is all about timing. You can hit 4 rods in a row and then still get combo'd by the other player because they hit their rod once at the exact correct time. It takes a while to get used to, for sure. I'm still not that good at it. But the main thing that will help you a ton is understanding the mechanics of rodding. If you can understand how the knockback and air time and things like that work, all you have to do is experiment until you figure it out in-game.
