is PING taking over PVP ?

Ok, here is my stance on this.Ping will always have an effect on ANY online game. Some more then others. To be honest, if you are that annoyed by ping, you should just move away from online games, because ping has an impact on many online games, minecraft included. Now, many people complain about ping, when to be honest, if you are under 100ms, you won't be affected that much. I have seen this for myself, because I am one that has 55ms to Badlion. Once, I connected to a VPN located in LA. I forgot to take it off, and started to do vanilla ranked. I had a ping of about 115ms on average with the VPN, and my rating didn't drop, I didn't even notice the difference, I was the same PvPer. I could understand some complains from people getting 200-300ms, but, if you are getting that kind of ping, you either need to find a way to use it to your advantage, or find another game to play. For those that complain about latency, there are ways around it, so you can combo them back, just experiment with different methods, and you will soon find a way to counter it, there is a way to counter everything in this game, believe it or not.

you wouldn't understand until you can beat decent people and lose to those who ware way worse because you can't reach them,luckily you don't have this issue,you should be thankful.

@appletine When I see people like that in the first video, I sprint straight inside them, blockhit, run foward, to the side, blockhitting on and off to keep the combo going, works everytime.
For people like Sectioned in the second video, basically try to strafe around them, until you get the opportunity to blockhit and knock them back, and once they are in the air do whatever it takes to keep the combo going, and repeat, both these methods work everytime for me. It is a bit hard to explain in text, and I probably explained it slightly wrong, but that is the best way to describe how I do it in text

It's not just your internet, it depends on the were the server is hosted as well. For this server, it's in New Jersey, on the east coast. So me, being in California, I get 85-90ms. Some people have 20. It just ruins pvp.Posted on 29 July 2014 - 02:56 AM

i get what you're saying,and it does somewhat work,but by doing that you can pull up a good fight,but there is no way that you will win,especially if their aim is decent.

Ok to be fair, Ping will ALWAYS be a part of PvP or any online game. BUT Ping in general isn't that much of an advantage itself. For myself I get 45 ping on a great day and on a normal day I get 60-70. To me it doesn't matter to much, but in Iron OCN its an advantage as you can easily kill people with the sword and ect. if you REALLY care move to America as ComboDombo had said, and buy faster internet service.. but minecraft PvP will always be this way, and there is nothing you can do about that unless everyone starts moving and living on a satellite.Posted on 29 July 2014 - 03:01 AM

Ok let me just get this straight. In apache's video that kid was hacking (A known hacker with a bad rep). In Draichots video, he was fighting Sectioned who at the time had the better version of toggle sneak (the sprinting mod) giving him an advantage.
You can do shit to hackers or modifications to make someone better. That isn't connection based.

i know syrate hacked on bl and got banned but he didn't hack for a fact in this clip,even apache doesn't think he did,as a matter of fact people look like this in my pov,or sometimes they look like they're hitting from even more far away,also that toggle sprint mod doesn't give any kb whatsoever,i tried it and it's the same as normal toggle sprint,and i prefer the 1.7 built in sprint over both,the reason sectioned was getting so much kb is because he lives in cali near hcf's host,believe it or not connecting does make a huge difference in pvp,sure you can still be good with a bad connection,but you won't be as nearly as good when you have a good one,since i have dynamic ip,my connection is sometimes good and sometimes bad,sometimes i beat people easily when it's good,and these same people beat me with when it's bad,simply because i get thrown way back that i can't get back at them, you wouldn't understand until you experience what i'm talking about,sorry for any grammar mistakes it's 5 am atm,i also hope that you understand what i'm trying to explain.Posted on 29 July 2014 - 07:21 AM

I understand the kb with bad ping all to good. I had 150ms to badlion at one point. It sucked but I was still 1960 elo.

i was 2k vanilla on 2 accs b4 reset and 1.95k hcf on 2 accs,but still i can do way better without the kb i'm getting,also the kb is even worse in hcf ladder than it is in vanilla because the combos are longer.

Well, ApacheBlitz isn't staff. Frankly, Syrate has been caught hacking on his main accounts and on several alts. Each time, he was very difficult to actually ban. He has a ghost client, so do a lot of other people. This is NOT a reliable source for any side of the debate.
Edit:
I had 12 ping to Badlion. I got to 1900.
When Badlion changed host, I (got) around 50-60ms. At this point, I got up to 2180. I also got around eight alts into the 2000s. God ping isn't what some people make it out to be.

i beat syrate on here,he does not hack anymore,he's decent and a bit fishy because he plays with high dpi,i also never mentioned god ping or anything,i'm just talking about how bad my connection is sometimes,ik that people are great even with 200ms + like darcyod,im just saying how bad it is for me,not how good it is for others c:,once again excuse me for any grammar mistakes i didn't sleep yet.

I find that rather difficult to believe since he has had a ghost client.. He's been banned on several alts for hacking when we didn't know it was him.

he admitted to it,he said he hacked on practice servers,but never on hcf,and that was his past he doesn't hack anymore,he played on an acc on bl for months now,which shows that he's legit else he would be banned by now, his head spins once in a while but he misses most of his hits when it does.

Ping isn't everything, if the person doesn't have the aim, focus and a DECENT to GOOD click speed. Then ping means nothing literally.

I still don't believe it-
Why would somebody go through the trouble of getting a ghost client just to hack on PRACTICE servers? Why not a normal client? It doesn't add-up. If you choose to believe him, that's fine. But, statistics say he's a hacker 4x over.
