[For the purposes of this thread, when I say "you," I'm referring to the xrayers/cheaters of the community]I was a closet cheater.
I wanted to make a little op-ed about the topic. While anti-xray is very effective in hiding ores, xray clients are still widely used to bypass it. These clients work through detecting water, lava, cobwebs, nether brick, and other unimportant ore, instead of the usual gold/diamond ore finder. While the effects aren't as obvious, it's still a problem, and though I can empathize with people who think it's okay, I felt that I should address them.
I freely admit to using an Xray client as little as two or three months ago. If I am punished because of this thread, In order to bypass anti-xray, I found water/lava pools. I rationalized my exploit by thinking to myself, "it's not that big of an advantage, and other people have it, so it's okay." As I've been working on self-improvement and had some drastic life changes in those two/three months, I permanently deleted my client and forge, and blacklisted the site I got it from. The temptation is still there, and every day before I play a UHC, I get the urge to go back to my old ways. It's an addiction.
Now, why am I telling you this? It's because I believe you should do some soul-searching and figure out whether you're really okay with cheating in a simple block game. I wanted to share my story in order to try to show you a way out of the habit and ponder the consequences of your actions.
This thread probably won't help anyone, but at least I'll feel relieved to finally be transparent. If I'm punished for my past actions, I deserve it, but that's not what I wanted to convey in this post. Bye Felicia

Catching X-Rayers is good entertainment when I'm hosting. So funny when it's blatant. The only thing that sucks is when they go up to the surface 30 mins in when all you need is 1 more piece to ban.The anti-xray has definitely helped decrease the amount of rayers and that's a good thing, but I wouldn't want them to be completely gone cos otherwise the fun would be taken out of hosting almost completely.
That's not to say I support cheating/X-Raying but if there are no X-Rayers/cheaters it takes away quite a lot of the satisfaction and fun of hosting that I love.
Think twice before downloading that client though.

I believe they anti xray is working extremely well at curbing cheating in UHC. I don't think it should be removed. I believe that the exploits I outlined should be looked at and patched if possible. I hope you believe my sincerity.
@RealSportsFan I agree, it's just a temptation that I'm not sure many people have the self control to ignore
I just wanted to put my two cents into the issue

The anti x-ray works very well if it's goal is to half my framesJokes aside, it does it's job, but I've heard people are bypassing it somehow
