What I find amusing is the fact you've got a negative W/L yet you're insulting this guy. How about get off your high horse and fuck off trying to put other people down.

I may disagree with his post, but there is 0 reason to be rude about his Elo. The guy plays for fun, if more people played for fun on this server, it'd be a much nicer place.

Thanks for the post, though I must say I do disagree. To an extent what you're saying is correct, just because two people have the same Elo doesn't mean they're as good as each other (ie Elo doesn't exactly represent skill level) however it's very likely a 2k Elo player is better than a 1500 player (assuming they're not new) as that's the whole point in the system as the 1500's aren't good enough to get 2k or they'd have that Elo.

What you have to realise is, this is a competitive server. People want others to think they're great, hence why people try so hard for their Elo and stat wins etc, which in my opinion is what's taken the fun out of Badlion for me. The amount of people who play with hacked clients on "just in case" is astounding and honestly more prevalent in the community than people realise I think.

I'm not a UHC player and those scores are from over 2-3 months ago. If you'd like to bring something relevant to the table that'd be nice.
I'm not a good UHC player and I'm able to admit that, but it disgusts me that people go out of there way to find excuses for everything. He's clearly not playing "just for fun" since he's trying to extremely poorly justify his poor ELO.

To me, this is comparable to the people who refuse to admit they cheat or client. We definitely need more people who refuse to admit their own faults right?

- 'Tryhard': I fucking hate that term. More than anything. What's wrong with trying your best? Unless you are playing like a complete and utter idiot (Running every match, camping, skybasing etc) then trying your best is perfectly acceptable.
- 'If you have 2K you're good and if you have 1500 you're shit. This is not the case people': Sorry to break it to you buddy but for the most part having 2000 ELO shows more skill than having 1500 ELO. If you were around before BuildUHC you would understand that it is MUCH harder to get ELO in other ladders than Build. I've seen people with 1200 SG ELO that are 1650 in BuildUHC. BuildUHC is an incredibly easy ladder to rank up in, and if someone is legit trying and has played many matches in BuildUHC but cannot pass 1500, then sorry to say but they aren't 'shit' but not very good at the game.
- 'People with shared accounts don't get ELO legit': … The point you were trying to make was that people with 1500 ELO are better than / equal to people with 2000 ELO… It doesn't take 10 people on one account to get 1500 ELO lol, people are allowed to account share - I don't particularly agree with it, but when people get the ELO in individual ladders while sharing, they are getting it THEMSELVES. They aren't boosting, that is bannable.

Once again, the point you were trying to make was that people with 1500 ELO aren't that bad, yet you literally just called them 'randies' yourself… Anyways, people want to do well in a UHC. People want kills. People want to WIN. What makes it easier to win? Having a GOOD teammate. Someone who knows how to play well and someone who can take a fight. I once teamed with a random person in a To2 just to see how I would do. What happened? They had no armor 20 minutes in and only a stone sword, when I went over to him in the cave he started TRYING TO KILL ME, which is why I only ever play with people I know.


Tl;dr

Unless you have rubbish frames, rubbish internet and generally a horrible means of playing then having 1500 ELO means you are 99% NOT as skilled as a 2000 ELO player. Even people with shitty playing environments can get high ELO, just look at someone like Danteh for instance, he reached 2500 ELO on a LAPTOP in small screen. Sorry if i'm coming across as a dick, but it's the truth that some people just need to accept - Someone's ELO will usually determine if they are bad or good at the game.

ELO shows not just skill but CONSISTENCY. any 1400 can get lucky and win by preheading a 1700, but it doesn't mean they are better.
