The 2015 forums were so much better, anyway +1 I know the players in Asia struggle with their ping.Last edited on 22 May 2016 - 11:52 AM by H2Q
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)_per_capitarichest country in asia is qatar, followed by singapore and then brunei
and btw regarding east asia's population…china has their 'great firewall of china' so it would be very hard to find a chinese player in minecraft
singapore is the best…I dont think you'll get 110 ping to singapore because even with my bad internet, I had around 70 ping to kohi asia in the past
maybe there aren't as many players in middle east and south asia but an extra 30 players into the server is good right?

Yes, we can say that Eastern Asia has 1,300,000,000 people and Europe 800,000,000, but still the amount of population in a certain area doesn't mean the majority of them is playing Minecraft, and especially Badlion. There still are some valid points in your posts @Qntulu
Such as internet quality and DDoS protection, which are better in Japan and Korea than rest of the countries in Asia.
Also, in China, there's the "Great Firewall of China" which prevents people using western internet services (such as, but not limited to; YouTube, Twitter..) without a VPN. Also, most VPNs are blocked in China by their government, and in addition, VPNs are not allowed on Badlion.
I've barely seen any Minecraft players from China (https://kohi.net/u/MCGamerHDE/) unless you don't take into account Minecraft servers in China (which are cracked (meaning they don't use Mojang's verification servers)), and that doesn't count since the users have not bought the actual game.
Also I made this, to clear some things out for people who are bad at geography.
In my opinion, Hong Kong would be the best as a location, and Japan / Korea the best for internet quality and DDoS protection. As for the pricing, not too sure.

The problem with Hong Kong servers:
- Government:
- China's government is tightening control over Hong Kong
- Data center availability:
- There are very few datacenters by reliable companies in Hong Kong, the only reliable one I have been able to find is Rackspace
- DDoS Protection
- Rackspace's DDoS protection costs money. A lot of money considering they put a "get a quote" button on their page.
hong kong is a different country as I thought? like they dont like being called the same

Servers in Hong Kong are very expensive, because Hong Kong is a very small city and due to the fact that they and Macau are the only places in china with nearly uncensored internet
