In this community feedback thread I would like to gather some feedback on separating the regions out in season 13 and going forward. As of right now Badlion is one massive ladder system across the entire world. This has some pros and come cons. The reality is the #1 player in NA might be better than the #1 player in EU but have less rating than the player in EU and be lower on the ladder.Should players be measured based on a global ladder system or should it be broken into different regions. There are pros and cons to each situation. Breaking things into proper regions would allow us to host better tournaments in the future with a requirement on rating to participate and for it to be your "main region" (the region you play the most on). Please note that we will not restrict gameplay on other regions if we separate the ratings out, but the rating in NA will not be the same on one EU.
If regions were separated than NA would have a ranking for arenapvp servers, one for UHC servers, one for SG servers, etc. EU would have a separate set, AU would have a separate set, South America, Asia, etc.
Thoughts on this? I am looking for some in depth discussion from our community on the matter.

snipdifferent regions should each have their own leaderboard, but there should also be a worldwide one.

You should separate the regions because NA and EU players never play together and have different ways of playing. I think it doesnt matter if the rating isn't the same in EU and NAPosted on 24 May 2016 - 04:01 PM
Seperate region ladders sound like a good ideaPosted on 24 May 2016 - 04:01 PM
Make them separate. It will just make everything cleaner, in my opinion.Last edited on 24 May 2016 - 04:01 PM by Verillium
Overall ladders make it more competitive, but the option for regions would be interesting. \Edit: Like the way 1.7 and 1.9 are seperated, have regions and global.

Defiantly, I wanna see a website like kohi's one. With regions and click tester and the basic stuff? Mainly a leaderboard from each country?Posted on 24 May 2016 - 04:08 PM
+1 I was thinking about this for awhile. Only concern I have for it, is would players be automatically geo-located?(For Example: I live in NA, so if I play a UHC on EU, my stats would be added on the NA stats)Or would the stats be categorized, just where you play(For Example: I live in NA, so if I play a UHC on EU, my stats would be added on the EU stats. If this is added, then it should be added if it is possible to do that geo-locating idea just to not have stat leaderboards have duplicates of that. Besides that, +1 +1.Posted on 24 May 2016 - 04:12 PM
This sounds good. You should also add so you can see what kohi has on their website like Sweden #1. And leaderboard top 10 from each region and another region for top 10 worldwidePosted on 24 May 2016 - 04:12 PM
I'll be honest, I cant really give a straight answer. Obviously, getting a high rating is supposed to be hard, right? Taking out those EU Players would take out part of the community making it easier to get higher on the leaderboard. Second thing I'm worried about is something like lets say you live in North America, but play and EU UHC. Would your stats be moved to EU stats, or stay at your home NA stats? Although I do like the idea, I'm not sure about it right now.Posted on 24 May 2016 - 04:17 PM
The system for UHC is fine right now don't change it but otherwise for Arena I think it'd be good.Posted on 24 May 2016 - 04:19 PM

I am not sure we will go to this extreme of per country ratings. We will see which direction we are steered into though.

For something like UHC we might do something different. Nothing is 100% decided at the moment.

I feel the opposite. I think region based ratings will make things more competitive towards that individual region. Especially with tournaments towards the end of an ArenaPvP season for people who are in the top of that region.

Honestly, I don't think it is necessary to separate leaderboards for something like Arena PvP… However for UHC, separate leaderboards for region could be pretty cool. It kind of reminds me of the champion uhc games, there's one for na and for eu, would be cool to implement a leaderboard for this.Posted on 24 May 2016 - 04:50 PM
So if im eu and i wanna play on us , will the rating i get from us be sepparate?
