Do you know what average is? Add up all the elos of players and then divide by the the amount of players, hope thats not 2 hard
Although elo should be balanced the ladder has become inflated so much

What are you even talking about LOL. Just because there's more players on average than normal above 1400 doesn't mean the average has changed.

Yes, I know what average is, but you apparently don't. Everyone on the server starts with 1400 elo, and when people play each other they always lose/gain the same amount of elo. Because of this no elo in the server is ever lost (besides elo resets). So say 100 people have played build this season: since each of them would start with 1400 elo, the total build elo in the server would be 140,000. No matter how many people play each other, the amount of total elo in the server remains consistent, making the average elo for any ladder (including global) exactly 1400 at all times.

Guys, guys. The problem you're having here is that you forgot to define the term "average". A few of you are using the term in relation to the mathematical definition, as in adding some group of numbers together and then dividing that total by the number of numbers in the list. The other few of you are using the term as an approximation, as in "the average Badlion player would have x elo". It's not the same thing. And you will never come to an agreement unless you realize that you are arguing different things.

You're wrong on many more levels. I'm unsure of the actual average, but I'd say it would be around 1450, give or take some. Before you say it's exactly 1400 because there's always the same amount of total ELO, you are wrong. Hackers will take ELO out of the system and never return it. That means if someone get's 2k ELO and then wipes their ELO, they've permanently taken 600 ELO out of the system. It's gone. Now, perhaps when people buy ELO resets they put a lot more ELO into the system so it might be 1350, that much I don't know. I'd need some real statistics. But the mathematical average is not 1400. It is some above or some below, or if we're just really lucky it's still exactly 1400. I'd bet on it being more. Most hackers will take ELO out of the system and then have that gone forever.

the average would be around 1600 is average as having a 1-1 ratio would be "average" however you will have more elo than 1400 if you have a 1-1 ratio

Also there is ELO manipualtion. People can get to 1000 with it and then their ELO will be reset for them and them alone their ELO returns to 1400 possibly adding 400 ELO into the system. In constrast, an elo booster that uses multiple booster accounts could take some elo away.

Are you kidding? 1450 or 1350? Not even close. Say a hacker at 2k elo gets reset and removes 600 elo from the system. That would probably be around 0.003 elo added to the average. Same when someone manipulates to get to lower elo then gets reset. I would be amazed if the average was anywhere outside of 1399-1401.

there's no point in arguing about the mathematical average of elos, atleast not on this thread. The average as the OP used it is clearly as in your second definition.

I mean, there are a lot of hackers. Yeah that was a dumb estimate. I would say it would be give or take 5-10 from the original being generous. I was tired when I wrote that, it was pretty dumb.

@Archybot
Sorry to bug you, but if it doesn't take too much CPU/RAM, daily (or hourly, or whatever increments is best suitable for you) , could we have a median(or mean your choice lol)/lowest/highest elo and the player that they belong to? That'd be quite good for statistics, I'm sure many people would want to know that.

To those saying average/mean,
1. It requires more operations, median is just sort, find the middle, (not add the elos of 150K+ people and divide)
2. Median works better when there are a lot of players (imo). There are many outliers/odd players that have extremely high/low elo on Badlion, so I think median would work better.
3. Median is better for approximation, as mean, again, can be dragged down/up by outliers.

Disagree with me (I want to be criticized). (I'm stupid) I wrote this yesterday, but PC crashed, I was pretty much drunk lmao

Hmm… my guess for median or mean 1200-1350
