Imagine this guy with the nuclear launch codes, "accidentally" firing one and saying "OOPS! I didn't know what that big red button did and it's unfair that I'm in jail now"

Why are you comparing a simple phrase that wasn't meant to be of actual harm to a nuclear fucking launch?
That being said the gang shit in general was getting annoying anyway. Too many people trying so hard to fit in.

Being cocky by shoving your win (whether you intend it or not) in another player's face is easily expressed by simply typing "L" because of the meaning created behind the letter itself. It's a stretch analogy but I think it still fits. You should be punished for wrongdoing even if it's unintentional, at least in situations such as there.
