To be honest here, I've made this point a few times. But I've always gotten the same responses: "there's always gotta be someone with the bad ping". Well, here's the deal. To have an enjoyable server for all, you have to make sure nobody gets 150+ ping. Of course, in some places 150+ms is gonna have to happen, but the "there's always gotta be someone with the bad ping" statement doesn't apply here. Asia and South America servers are opening up. If you live in northern Africa just connect to EU. Southern Africa, just connect to AU. I used to get 110ms back when the servers were hosted in Virginia, and I get 80 now when they're hosted way farther north in Montreal. But there's one thing I hope can happen sometime soon: moving the databases. And the place I have in mind is Springfield, IL. Let's think about it for a minute: it's close to Chicago, meaning there will be quite a few satisfied players, but it's not far enough from New England to the point where they get awful ping. I really want to see players like Danteh get 3000 ELO next season, and I want that to be accomplishable for him. He's said before he gets 40ms, which is good. I'm trying to get a location closer to the east coast of America while at the same time keeping the servers the exact same distance away from the highly populated areas. At the same time, you call the current location "NA East" when in reality it's NA Northeast. Sure, Canadians get way better ping, but most Canadian players I know live in British Columbia or Quebec. Also, plenty of the laggers I've seen before have (don't think I'm at all trying to be racist) Spanish names. That being said, the USA separates Mexico from Canada. It's about two thousand miles between the southern border of Texas and the databases just a bit north of the border with New York. This is causing many Mexican players to lag, and this frustrates the community. By moving the servers down to Springfield it can make them take way less delayed knockback and then the community will be happier. I don't live in Springfield, I live way farther south. But by doing this, it'll take out plenty of laggers and then with the implementation of the Asia/South America servers the problem won't persist at all. Everyone hates people who take delayed kb, and with the movement of the database the problem doesn't have to keep going further.
this is also probably the last post with any meaning whatsoever till 1k idk
