I'm good at melee, as you can tell from my stats, all the fundamental w-tapping and blockhit combos, but I'm absolutely terrible at gapple. I've never maintained a gapple elo over 1500, and if it wasn't for gapple, I would already be 1750+ global. I'm hard-pressed to fight/beat even low elos like 1300-1400, and I've only ever beaten one 1500. Is there some secret to gapple?Posted on 15 June 2016 - 10:06 AM
Usually in pot fights, real "engagements" only last between around 5 and 10 seconds, while in gapple, you and the other person can be swinging at each other for a solid 20 seconds without respite. Gapple is all about stamina, and it takes practice to make sure your hands aren't aching during and after each fight.Posted on 15 June 2016 - 10:19 AM
Click speed, stamina, armor management, and blockhitting . Those are really the only things you need to be good at gapple.Posted on 15 June 2016 - 09:45 PM
I don't even blockhit in gapple and im always around 1570, blockhitting slows u down. I just strafe and spam mouse.Posted on 15 June 2016 - 10:03 PM
you take less kb and armor damage with blockhitting, learn to time it properly for better resultsPosted on 16 June 2016 - 01:08 AM
Blockhit.I blockhit most of the time and I am a 1700.

Okay, so in GApple you need to blockhit but make sure your aim is on point. I keep going for forward blockhit strafes, so in other words straightlining the other player with blockhitting. Doing this enough will give you enough combos to break their helmet before yours. When your helmet breaks don't put your other one on until your boots are at 20 or less durability for maximum efficiency. Do the same with boots and leggings. You are gonna need to pop your extra pants and chestplate on fast though. The conserving of the helmet and boots will carry over to when those break and you'll still have them while they are stuck trying to make a comeback.Posted on 16 June 2016 - 02:14 AM

You need to time your blockhits and when I mean blockhits you don't just swing and block you need to actually hit your opponent(practice aim) and don't blockhit when you know your opponent isn't going to hit you.Eat your GApple after he eats his unless your going against a randy and don't have time.
Crit when your opponent is eating a GApple.
Click speed doesn't really matter, mine is 6-8 but usually 6 in GApple lol.
Maybe you can pick up something I do in this video
My GApple record is 2299 btw.
